Update 1.44.0 has made Shotgun Parts a more interesting resource in ARC Raiders. The permanent removal from Ermal’s Nomadic Envoy rotation means players need to rethink an old part of their farming routine. Raiders who are already collecting ARC Raiders BluePrints will recognize the same basic principle: knowing where to look is often more useful than simply searching everywhere.
For anyone working on ARC Raiders BluePrints, the change is also a reminder that crafting materials should be planned around deployments. Shotgun Parts now favor active exploration and high-risk areas instead of safe merchant purchases. That may require some adjustment, but there are still several reliable habits that can make the process easier.
Forget the Old Merchant Routine
Ermal used to provide an alternative source of Shotgun Parts through his rotating shop. That made the material easier to obtain without entering particularly dangerous areas.
Update 1.44.0 permanently changed that system. Shotgun Parts have been removed from the rotation, so checking the shop repeatedly is no longer a useful farming strategy.
This does not mean the material has become unavailable. Instead, the developers have pushed players toward map-based resource gathering. If you previously built your entire routine around Speranza merchants, it is time to move some of that effort into actual deployments.
Where the Best Drops Are
The Breach Room in the Blue Gate security wings is one of the most important locations for Shotgun Parts. It offers a particularly strong chance of finding the material and should be on the radar of players who need a larger supply.
The nearby Stella Montis lobby zones are also worth searching. These areas can work well as part of a larger route because you can check multiple relevant containers rather than committing your entire deployment to one room.
Risk management matters here. High-value locations naturally attract attention, and a successful farming route is not necessarily the route with the highest theoretical drop rate. A route that lets you extract consistently can be more valuable than repeatedly dying while trying to reach the best container.
Learn the Container Patterns
One of the most useful changes to your farming habits is learning which containers deserve priority.
Regular lockers are not the best place to spend your time if Shotgun Parts are the main objective. Industrial shipping containers, hidden black boxes, and metal wall cabinets inside heavily defended indoor POIs are much more relevant.
This makes efficient looting possible. Instead of treating every container equally, move through a building with a specific target in mind. If you know what the useful containers look like, you can search quickly and leave before unnecessary fights consume your resources.
Use Quests for Predictable Rewards
Random loot is not your only option. Some early combat vendor quests in Speranza have been adjusted to offer Shotgun Parts as fixed rewards.
These tasks are particularly useful because they reduce the dependence on RNG. If one appears among your active objectives, consider building a deployment around it rather than treating the quest as unrelated progression.
You can also combine quest completion with normal looting. While moving toward an objective, check the relevant industrial containers along your route. This makes each deployment more productive without requiring you to make a separate trip solely for materials.
Why the Resource Matters
Shotgun Parts have a clear role in the current crafting system. They are needed for Tier 4 shotgun upgrades and advanced close-range firearm crafting.
That makes the material particularly important for players who regularly rely on shotguns. If you wait until the exact moment you need an upgrade before beginning to farm, you may end up making several risky deployments in a row.
Keeping a modest reserve is therefore a sensible habit. Even if you are currently satisfied with your equipment, future crafting requirements can make previously ignored materials suddenly valuable.
Salvaging Can Fill the Gap
There is also a useful fallback for players who already own high-tier shotguns they no longer need.
Salvaging an appropriate weapon at the workbench can return a portion of its core component resources. The return is limited, so it should not be viewed as a replacement for targeted farming, but it can make a difference when you are just short of the required materials.
This is especially helpful when your stash contains old equipment that has little practical use. Instead of letting those weapons occupy space indefinitely, consider whether their salvage value can support your next crafting project.
Adapt Instead of Waiting
The Ermal change makes one thing clear: Shotgun Parts now belong in your deployment planning. If you are preparing a new crafting setup and looking at cheap ARC Raiders BluePrints, remember that acquiring a useful blueprint is only part of the process; having the necessary materials ready can save several runs later.
For most players, the best routine is straightforward. Check Speranza quests, prioritize relevant indoor containers, keep Blue Gate and Stella Montis in your rotation, and use salvaging when you have suitable spare weapons. Once these habits become part of your normal deployments, the loss of Ermal's shop option becomes much less disruptive.
