POE 3.29 Abyss Farming Essentials with U4GM

After the ten-act campaign, your POE 3.29 route into the Atlas starts with Commander Kirac in the Karui Shores, followed by map bonus objectives that earn Atlas passive points. Keep your early POE currency budget focused on map progression and later adjustments. Your first goal is a repeatable mapping loop; Abyss investment comes after you can complete encounters and keep suitable maps ready.

How do you start mapping after the POE 3.29 campaign

Meet Commander Kirac after defeating Kitava, then follow the introduction to the Atlas of Worlds. Treat those opening maps as a readiness check: can you clear groups, finish the boss, and handle the modifiers you've selected Spending more on encounters won't fix a character that struggles to finish the map around them.

The Map Device opens the Atlas interface, where you select a location and insert a map item; ordinary map items identify a tier, not a fixed area. That means your next usable map item can support another run of your preferred location without requiring its old area-specific name. Start with content you can finish consistently, and change the difficulty only when the current runs feel controlled.

Which map objectives should you complete first

Prioritize unfinished bonus objectives: white maps require Magic rarity or higher, yellow maps require Rare rarity, and red maps require Corrupted Rare rarity. Defeating the relevant map boss under the required conditions is what earns the bonus, so simply clearing monsters isn't enough. Check the objective before opening the map, especially when you're spending resources to prepare it.

Build your opening allocation around continued mapping, then move toward your chosen Abyss clusters. You can also earn one Atlas point per completed Unique Map, up to 10, while the five Nightmare Map completions provide another five points. Those are additional progression targets, not tasks you need to finish before trying a concentrated specialist allocation.

Give each early point a clear job: keeping maps available, reaching the next useful cluster, or improving the encounters you're actually completing. Spreading a limited allocation across unrelated mechanics makes it harder to judge which investment is helping. Keep the first version simple enough that you can explain why every branch is there.

How should you maintain maps in POE 3.29

Use Kirac's shop and your Atlas progression to support repeated runs, but plan around the current shop system: his inventory can be refreshed with Gold, and he no longer offers Atlas Missions. Check what you already have before refreshing, then spend toward the next objective or the tier your character can reliably handle.

Voidstones now affect individual Atlas quadrants, raising their minimum map tier to 16, improving map-drop tiers there, and converting lower-tier map drops to Gold. That makes socketing one a meaningful difficulty decision. Check your character's performance before treating that quadrant as your regular farming destination.

Judge sustain across several runs, not through one unusually generous or disappointing map. Track your usable map stock alongside preparation costs and completion results. A setup that leaves you unable to open the next suitable map needs adjustment before you add more paid encounter inputs.

When should you switch into focused Abyss farming

Switch when your character can finish Abyss encounters consistently and your mapping foundation leaves enough points for concentrated reward investment. In the revised mechanic, you kill influenced enemies around opened pits to feed souls and bring out Abyss monsters. The base Abyss Scarab permits five copies, and additional Abyss effects add two pits when an Abyss is already present.

Check each selected scarab's limit before loading the Map Device, then measure completed rewards rather than encounter appearances. Abyssal Depths bosses award three reward chests, while encounter chests received improved reward consistency and quality in 3.29.1. Elite Abyss monsters received increased item quantity and experience in 3.29.2, giving you another reason to finish their fights.

Record preparation spending, completed chests, elite kills, and replacement maps during your opening sample. Use those results to decide which input earns its place. Another character's profitable batch isn't a promise for your build, especially when its setup also targets map drops.

Complete your next missing bonus objective, review your Abyss allocation, and reserve funds for scarabs and adjustments before increasing investment. For the purchasing step, check cheap Path of exile currency through U4GM against your planned budget, with enough resources left for continued mapping. Let completed encounters and repeatable runs set the pace.
